If you have been injured on the job, there are laws that allow you to bring claims against your employer for such work-related injury or illness. Upon injury, your employer must provide you with a panel of medical providers to choose from for medical treatment. Your employer must pay for all authorized medical attention related to the work injury, including mileage to and from medical care providers. In addition, your employer must compensate you 66 2/3 of your average weekly salary/wage for the amount of time you are disabled and the doctor places you off work. Ultimately, if the injury results in a permanent impairment, the law provides for compensation due to vocational loss. Many times there are difficulties experienced by the worker in receiving these benefits provided by law. Please remember there is no fee involved to initially discuss your workers’ compensation case; there is only a fee, set by statute, if we recover benefits for you.
